Personal injury claims in Trinidad.

Accident claims, medical negligence and compensation matters.

Personal injury claims arise after road accidents, workplace incidents, medical negligence or other situations where one party’s conduct has caused injury to another. The legal process is designed to compensate the injured party — but the process itself takes time, and the recovery the law allows is rarely as straightforward as the injured party expects.

We act for claimants across T&T in matters where injury, financial loss or both have resulted from another party’s negligence.

01Scope

What we handle.

Road traffic accident claims Motor vehicle insurance disputes Workplace accident claims Medical negligence Slip-and-fall and public liability claims Defective product claims Claims for loss of earnings and future earning capacity Pain and suffering compensation
02Approach

Our approach.

Most personal injury matters are won or lost on evidence — medical records, photographs, witness statements, accident reports and expert opinions. Our first task is gathering this evidence systematically before memories fade and documents are lost.

We are direct about likely outcomes. T&T courts award compensation in line with established precedents, not in line with what the claimant feels they deserve. Clients receive a realistic assessment of the recovery range at the start of the matter, not as a surprise on the day of settlement.

03Common Questions

Common questions.

How long do I have to bring a claim?

Personal injury claims must generally be filed within four years of the date of injury. Some exceptions apply. We assess the limitation position at the first consultation.

What can I recover?

Damages are typically split into special damages (specific financial losses such as medical costs, lost earnings and damaged property) and general damages (compensation for pain, suffering and loss of amenity). Future loss claims are also possible where injury affects long-term earning capacity.

Will my case go to trial?

Most personal injury matters settle before trial — often after the exchange of medical evidence and an offer from the defendant’s insurer. Some matters do go to trial, particularly where liability is denied or where the value of the claim is genuinely disputed.
